INTERNATIONAL CPA FIRM
An accounting firm in Atlanta, GA, built around the people behind the numbers
Forsyth Holtzman brings experienced accounting, tax, and advisory guidance together with something just as important: people who listen, explain, respond, and genuinely care about where you’re headed.
About Forsyth Holtzman
There are plenty of accounting firms that can prepare a tax return or produce a financial statement.
We wanted to build something more personal than that.
Forsyth Holtzman is an accounting firm serving small and medium-sized businesses, business owners, and high-income individuals who want a CPA relationship they can rely on throughout the year.
From our home in Kennesaw, Georgia, we work with clients throughout the United States and internationally, bringing technical expertise and thoughtful guidance to financial decisions both big and small.
Our job isn't simply to give you the numbers. It's to help you understand what they mean, how they affect you, and what you can do next.
That's the kind of accounting firm we set out to build, and it's still how we work today.
Financial decisions are important enough without making them harder to understand than they need to be.
Our team takes the work seriously, but that doesn’t mean your CPA relationship has to feel cold, complicated, or transactional.
We believe you should be able to ask questions, understand the answers, and know that when something important comes up, you have someone to call.
That means:
Listening before we recommend.
Explaining instead of assuming.
Responding when you have questions.
Looking beyond today’s deadline to understand what you’re trying to accomplish tomorrow.
Whether we're helping a small business owner understand cash flow, working through a complex tax situation, or helping an individual plan for the financial decisions ahead, the goal is the same: give you the clarity and guidance to make informed decisions with confidence.
Meet The Forsyth Holtzman CPA Founders
Josh Forsyth, CPA
Founding Partner
Josh has spent more than 20 years in public accounting, but starting his own CPA firm was something he had in mind long before that. In fact, it had been a goal of his since college.
Today, Josh works primarily with small to mid-sized businesses and high-net-worth individuals across tax, advisory, and audit. What he enjoys most is helping clients take financial control of their future, whether that means working through a big business decision, planning ahead for taxes, or simply helping someone better understand where they stand.
That mindset has shaped a lot of what Forsyth Holtzman has become. Josh wants clients to have a CPA they know they can call, who understands what they're working toward and can give them a clear answer when they need one.
Josh is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA and Georgia Society of CPAs, where he has also been involved with the Leadership Council. He has served on several nonprofit boards throughout his career.
Outside of work, Josh enjoys traveling with his wife and son, spending time with family and friends, and getting out on the tennis court whenever he can.
Sandi Holtzman, CPA
Founding Partner
Sandi has seen accounting from quite a few sides over the years. Her background includes 17 years in public accounting, 12 years in corporate real estate taxation, and five years in corporate accounting, experience that gives her a practical understanding of the financial questions her clients bring to the table.
She works with individuals, business owners, closely held businesses, service companies, and real estate clients, an area where she has particularly deep experience. No matter who she's working with, Sandi enjoys helping clients understand the accounting and tax side of things without making it feel more complicated than it needs to be.
For her, it's important that clients understand what's happening with their finances and feel comfortable asking questions along the way. Sometimes that means digging into a complicated tax situation; other times, it simply means explaining something in a way that finally makes sense.
Sandi is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA, Georgia Society of CPAs, and Acworth Business Association.
When she's away from the office, Sandi enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
The CPA Team You Can Actually Get To Know
Our clients aren’t passed through a faceless accounting machine, and our team isn't made up of people who only appear when something needs to be filed.
Behind every tax return, financial statement, strategy, and recommendation is a team of people who want to understand your goals, answer your questions, and make the financial side of things a little easier to navigate.
Dave McFarland, CPA
Manager
Dave works with closely held and family-owned businesses, particularly in manufacturing, professional services, and real estate. His work covers everything from tax compliance and planning to financial reporting and financial statement audits, which means he's often helping clients work through questions that don't have a simple, one-line answer.
That's one of the parts of the job he enjoys most. Dave likes taking complicated tax or accounting issues, breaking them down, and helping clients understand what the information means for the decisions they're making.
Over the years, some of his most meaningful work has come from the relationships he's built along the way. Being someone clients trust enough to call when an important tax or business decision comes up is something he doesn't take lightly.
Dave is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA and Georgia Society of CPAs.
Outside of work, he's a former college baseball player who still follows the game closely and loves catching a Major League game when he can. He's also an avid reader and never passes up a chance to see Bruce Springsteen in concert.
Bailey Guyton Norman
Manager
Bailey has been with Forsyth Holtzman since 2020, working closely with small to medium-sized businesses and the people behind them. Much of her work has centered around ongoing bookkeeping and payroll, and over the years she's continued to grow her experience on the tax side of the firm as well.
One thing that's especially important to Bailey is making sure clients understand their options. Tax conversations can get complicated fast, and she enjoys being able to break things down, talk through the different paths available, and help clients understand what makes the most sense for them.
After five years with Forsyth Holtzman, Bailey was promoted to Manager, a role that has allowed her to continue growing as both an accountant and a leader within the firm.
When she's not at work, Bailey enjoys spending time with her husband and their families. They're also big sports fans, so there's a good chance you'll find them watching baseball or football together.
Dennie Smyth, EA
Enrolled Agent
Dennie didn't take the most traditional path into public accounting, and that's part of what makes her background so valuable.
She spent more than 20 years working in corporate accounting before joining a CPA firm in an accounting support role. The more she learned about public accounting and tax preparation, the more she wanted to know. That eventually took her back to college for her bachelor's degree and then on to earning her Enrolled Agent credential.
Today, Dennie prepares business and individual tax returns and helps clients work through tax notices. As an Enrolled Agent, she can also represent clients before the IRS when tax problems arise.
She knows that receiving a notice from the IRS, or simply trying to understand your taxes, can be stressful. Being able to explain what's happening and help someone work through it is one of the things she enjoys most about her job.
Away from work, Dennie loves spending time with her family, reading, working on puzzles, and putting together Lego sets.
Samantha Ponder
Senior Staff Accountant
Samantha works across several areas of the firm, including client accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and advisory. She primarily works with small to medium-sized businesses and individual tax clients, helping with everything from monthly accounting and financial statements to tax preparation, research, and planning.
For Samantha, though, the best part isn't necessarily the accounting itself. It's getting to know her clients and their businesses well enough to become someone they know they can rely on.
She enjoys solving problems, especially when a tax or accounting issue has started to feel complicated, and helping clients come away with a clearer understanding of what's going on.
Samantha is currently preparing for the Enrolled Agent exam as she continues to build her expertise in taxation. A longtime Acworth resident, she enjoys spending time in and around the community when she's away from the office.
Jordan LaVigne
Senior Staff Accountant
Jordan works with entrepreneurs, attorneys, real estate agents, and other business owners across bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation, and tax planning.
He knows taxes and compliance aren't exactly the parts of running a business most people look forward to. For Jordan, being able to take some of that stress off a client's plate and give them a little more peace of mind is a big part of why he enjoys what he does.
His interest in finance started well before it became his career. It's something he's always enjoyed learning about and ultimately what inspired him to earn his degree in finance. Even now, you'll still catch him reading financial books in his free time.
When he's not doing that, Jordan loves traveling with his family, exploring new places, and trying whatever local food they can find along the way.
You should understand what your CPA is telling you.
Across our team, you'll find different specialties, backgrounds, and areas of expertise, but there's one thing you'll hear again and again: we like helping people understand.
Understand their taxes.
Understand their businesses.
Understand what their financial statements are telling them.
Understand their options before making an important decision.
That's intentional.
We believe good financial guidance shouldn't leave you with more questions than you started with. It should give you a clearer picture of where you stand and greater confidence about where you're going.
It's why:
We prioritize communication.
We build long-term relationships.
So much of our business has grown through referrals from clients, other CPAs, and professionals who trust us enough to send someone our way.
